How To Bring Yourself Back To Purpose, Passion, Fire And Joy

Do you feel lost?  Is your soul screaming at you?

Is your soul dying inside?

Are you experiencing depression? anxiety? brain fog?  Do you feel disconnected from the world? Do you feel numb?

If you received messages your whole life that said ‘you are not good enough for that’be quiet. stop talking. don’t express that’… it’s time to break free!

When you watch a child playing or being creative, you see a tiny soul who is beautifully in tune with what they are doing.

They are so bright and connected and they are immersed in the moment. They are passionate and filled with joy.

When did you stop allowing that in your life?  When did you stop allowing yourself to connect into creativity and freedom? Have you lost that instinct, that freedom, because you were told to play small?

Were you told not to FEEL?

Were you told not to try for things you really wanted? Did you decide to do what you were ‘supposed’ to do instead?

Have you become so disconnected from who you are, because you lost your passion and your purpose in a world that told you ‘no’?

Did you stop trying to BE YOURSELF and instead you became who you were TOLD to be, and now you simply go through the motions of living?

Do you wake up in the morning, put a smile on your face, and finish your day without feeling connected to it, because it doesn’t mean anything to you?  It doesn’t put a fire in your belly?  There’s no passion or you can’t bring yourself back to purpose?  Just a duty to perform in the way expected of you?

Here are 6 ways to bring yourself back to purpose, passion, fire and joy.

1.  Give yourself permission

The first step is to give yourself permission.  Allow yourself to see that life can be different.  Allow yourself to feel into the possibilities.  If you’ve always wanted to write a book, be an artist, make music, start a podcast, the key is in giving yourself permission to start.

You cannot find your purpose or your passion or bring yourself back to purpose if you never do anything different.  It won’t come along and hit you like a bolt out of the blue.

You have the power to give yourself permission to do whatever you want to do. You don’t need anybody else’s permission to be enough. You are enough already. Understand that you are worthy and lovable and you have unique and beautiful parts that are so valuable.  Give yourself permission to explore that.

2.  Stop trying to fit in

‘Fitting in’ is counter productive to living a life of purpose.  From tiny children, we try so hard to fit in.  To be seen as good.  To smile and be happy when we don’t feel it. We become a diminished version of our true self.  A smaller, less vibrant version.  We play small, do all the right things, never disagree, never use our voice. We never rock the boat.

It’s time to rock the freaking boat!

The power of you is your unique energy, style, personality, laugh, the way you dance, the way you dress.  Be what makes you comfortable, joyful and authentic.

3.  Speak your truth

If you have something to say, say it. It might be something you really need to say to your mother. It might be something you really want to say to your best friend.  Now’s the time to express it.

Are you always sick because you are holding so much inside, you never allow yourself to express it?  When you never speak your truth you are not giving yourself permission to simply be you and bring yourself back to purpose.  You are not backing yourself.  You are not standing in your power.  How long are you going to deny your truth?   Express it!  Say it!

4.  Feel your feelings

If you never express your feelings, that held trauma will turn into depression, anxiety and physical and mental unwellness.  That held trauma will stop you getting out of bed everyday.  Stop apologising for how you feel.  Stop minimising it.  Dig deep.  Listen to your intuition.  Listen to what your body is telling you.  Feel into the sadness, the pain, the joy!  Feel it all!  You cannot live in purpose and passion if you don’t feel into it.

5.  Ask What Do I need?

Do you ever sit down and think, what do I need today? What do I really, really need for myself to bring yourself back to purpose? Do you ever do that? Or are you stuck in Groundhog Day, running through life, trying to achieve, trying to do all the things you think are important, pleasing, fixing, helping. Are you so happy to go for a coffee with a friend and listen to all her problems, sympathize, offer advice, but never give yourself permission to ask ‘what do I actually need?’

This was me for years and years and years. I never asked myself this question. And I was chronically unwell, depressed and anxious. I was so disconnected from everything. I had no idea what I was doing here. And I never asked myself ‘what do I need?’  If you are stuck in a job you hate, surrounded by people that don’t value you and can’t remember the last time you really belly laughed?  Ask yourself ‘what do I need?’

6.  Connect with your soul

It’s really hard to connect to life when you’ve become disconnected from your soul, from who you truly are. It’s hard to find your way back to her.  Ask yourself ‘who am I?’, ‘what do I love?’, ‘who do I want to spend my time with?’ ‘what are my goals for the future?’  Get up close and personal with YOU.  It’s not until you FIND that incredible girl that you will find purpose, passion and joy.  Most of us are walking around as robots, fitting into a matrix that tells us to smile, be pleasing, fit in. It’s time to get conscious and inquisitive about YOU!

As you learn to give yourself permission, you will learn to love yourself more. As you learn to love yourself more, you will give yourself more permission to live the life you were born for.

In order to live a life of purpose and passion you must back yourself.  You must put yourself first. If you’ve never put yourself first, and you’re wondering why life sucks it’s because you cannot live in joy when you never consider your own needs, wants and desires.

It’s time to give yourself permission, stand in your truth, stand in your power, find out what you deeply need and start giving that to yourself.

You deserve it. You are enough! and you freaking deserve it.
